Long Term Review of the FlexBrew Coffee Maker

Multiple brew options

and user friendly interface

The Hamilton Beach FlexBrew coffee maker has been my daily driver for the past 4 years!!  In this quick review I’ll discuss what I really love about it and a few things that I would change if it were up to me!  I have used this coffee maker pretty much daily on the carafe and single serve side without incident for years now.  On the weekends I brew a large pot in the carafe and sip all weekend.  During the week, I prep the single serve side to brew my daily cup using the included basket.  If I have K-cups, it will brew with them, but they are not necessary to brew a single serving and no additional accessories are required.

Things I love:

  • Easy to use controls and settings
  • Options for K-cups and drip brewing in a carafe
  • An included basket for single serve brewing from ground coffee (no K-cup required!)
  • “Keep Warm” setting on the carafe side
  • Easy to disassemble and clean

Things I’m not keen on:

  • The “Bold” setting on the FlexBrew is really only useful on the single serve side.  When using this setting on the carafe side, it takes much longer to brew and I have found that the coffee has more of a burnt taste than bold, but ymmv.
  • It’s largish.  Not a dealbreaker but it does take up some counter space so keep that in mind!

Bottom Line:  Would I buy this again? Absolutely!  It does what I need and is simple to use.
